Compressible Multiphase Flows

Compressible multiphase flow that features interaction of particles (i.e. solid particles, droplets or bubbles)  with different flow configurations such as shock waves has numerous practical applications in supersonic and hypersonic combustors, underwater explosive devices, cavitation around high-speed projectiles, the interaction of supersonic and hypersonic vehicles with rain, fog, dust, ect. These interactions present unique challenges for numerical methods. We develop novel multiphase flow models to simulate these complex behavior at conditions for which experiments are impossible or very challenging.
